The Parish Church of All Hallows, Church Lane, Bardsey has stood at the heart of the village for well over a thousand years. It contains one of the best surviving Anglo-Saxon Buildings in West Yorkshire. The core of the present church was built early in the ninth century, with the Anglo-Saxon tower built on the original ninth century porch. An elaborate Norman doorway remains the principle entrance to the church, which was developed with fine Norman arcades. A very recent addition is the much admired Bardsey Millennium Tapestry, with its four exquisitely worked panels depicting all aspects of life in the village at the turn of the present century.
The church is open every day and welcomes pilgrims and visitors who add their prayers to those of generations.
Sunday worship focuses on the Eucharist at 8.00am and at 10.30am with Junior Church Groups during school term, time at 10.30am. Evening Prayer is said or sung at 6.30pm in Summer and 4.00pm in Winter months.
Full details of worship and many village activities are available in a monthly Village Newsletter, published by the Parochial Church Council and circulated free to all householders in the Parish.
