At Bardsey Primary you will find a highly dedicated, caring team committed to providing a secure, happy and stimulating environment within which each child will develop to the best of his/her ability. Our most recent OfSTED Inspection (May 2010) confirmed that Bardsey is a satisfactory school “which provides a warm and friendly place in which to learn. Pupils are proud of their school and their attendance is outstanding . This is because they are very well motivated and keen to succeed. The team found that “the good curriculum provides an interesting range of experiences which enhance their all-round personal development,” and went on to comment on the “strong sense of community within school [which"> is extended by extensive charity work, good links with the local church and developing links with schools abroad and in other parts of England.”
The school holds a number of awards which recognise our achievements across several areas:
· Investors in Pupils for our work involving pupils in the life and running of the school;
· Leeds Healthy Schools Standard for the ways in which we work to ensure children and adults make healthy lifestyle choices;
· Activemark Gold for the range and quality of our PE curriculum;
· ICT Mark for our strategic use of ICT for administration and across the curriculum.
Our children achieve to the best of their abilities and we are proud that this year (2009-10) saw our Year 6 pupils achieve results which were above that of national and local averages as well as those of our statistical neighbours in Leeds Local Authority. This year, out of 28 children:
93% of children in Year 6 achieved level 4 or above in English, including 43% who achieved level 5
100% of children in Year 6 achieved level 4 or above in Mathematics, including 54% who achieved level 5
