Bardsey and East Keswick Fest 2012

Working together in Bardsey and East Keswick for the benefit of our whole community

“I feel blessed that I live in our village because we are united in having fun, being friends and helping to make a difference! The main reason I love living here is the way so many people work together on common goals to benefit the whole community.” From Hayley Dodsworth resident in Bardsey, West Yorkshire.

[Along with many villages throughout the UK we are planning the upcoming Diamond Jubilee celebrations and have formed a committee of local groups to work together to provide a calendar of fun filled five days from Friday 1st to Tuesday 5th June 2012. The whole community will be invited to join in with fun and games including our famous Bardsey village Scarecrow Trail and the beautiful Flower Festival at All Hallows Church.

Bardsey Primary School will kick start the celebrations with a family and friends ‘IT’S A KNOCKOUT’ on Friday 1st June from 12 Noon with a ‘picnic in the grounds and then some real old fashioned fun’.

On Saturday 2nd June Bardsey Primary School are launching a traditional Jubilee Celebration beginning with maypole dancing followed by a procession of our Jubilee Queen to All Hallows Church for an afternoon of crafts and activities, BBQ and bands.

In the Evening there will be a ‘Best of British’ Jubilee Fancy Dress Party from 7.30pm-late in Bardsey Village Hall to raise vital funds for it’s development.

On the afternoon of Sunday 3rd June East Keswick Village Hall are hosting a Jubilee garden party for all the family from 2pm-6pm including BBQ and mini beer festival. Licensed bar all day. Then from 7.30pm–11pm there will be a family Disco with hog roast.

Monday 4th June Bardsey Sports Club, Keswick Lane, are hosting the Bardsey Gala where there will be family entertainment, stalls, competitions, children’s activities and displays for every-one to enjoy.

In the Evening All Hallows will join the Churches nationally in ‘lighting of the beacon’ at 6.30pm.

Finally, on Tuesday 5th June there will be a relaxed ‘cheese and wine’ evening in one of the most stunning gardens locally, Hillbark, Bardsey.
