01.01.2009 - Public Consultation on the proposed revision of Bardsey-cum-Rigton Conservation Area

The Bardsey Conservation area was first designated in 1975. A number of changes are now being proposed to ensure it best represents the special architectural and history of Bardsey-cum-Rigton.

Proposed changes to the boundaries include:

Proposed Conservation Area Boundaries

- Inclusion of Wayside Gardens
- Inclusion of East Rigton
- Inclusion of the Corn Mill, Old Forge and remains of the railway bridge & Cornmill Lane
- Rationalisation of the boundaries around the Grange and Castle Hill
- Inclusion of Woodacre Crescent, the Village Hall, bowling green & tennis courts
- Various extensions to include different properties along Church Lane etc

The proposed boundary changes will be displayed in the Village Hall on Saturday, 31st January 2009 from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Parish Councillors and Kate Newell, Community Conservation Officer from Leeds City Council will be available to answer any queries you may have. All visitors will be asked to complete a comments survey. Refreshments will be available.

Copies of the proposed changes will also be displayed in the Church, The Bingley Arms and available at Wetherby Library shortly.
