06.01.2010 - A New Sports Clubhouse
The planning processes have now been completed and the building project awarded to Leodis of Leeds for a final cost of £286,000. Work will start the first week in January 2010 to demolish the old clubhouse, clear the site and erect a new building in the same position on the sports field.
The existing site will be extended to form a 10m x 10m self contained block of stonework with roof tiles. Internally there will be four en-suite changing rooms (built to Sport England standards)for both male and female players of all ages.
There will also be a 65 square metre indoor sports and recreation area, served by a kitchen, toilets including disabled toilet, computer room and TV lounge.
The new bar and lounge will have its own entrance lobby.
The whole building frontage will be a raised verandah overlooking the sports field.
The committee intend to make better use of the new building by increasing the number of indoor activities by members and other groups in the community.

The Bingley Arms is no ordinary English pub. It is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest in Britain.
The Bingley Arms, or The Priests Inn as it was called hundreds of years ago, has a known history that dates back as far as 953AD when Samson Ellis brewed in the central part of the building. However, evidence suggests that it might even date back to 905AD and was standing before All Hallows Church, just a few yards away, was built in 950AD.
Check out their own website for further details, photographs and history.
