25.03.2010 - Spring Cleaning - Please come and help
We do need lots of volunteers this year as we seem to be worse than ever. Was it because of the bin strike last autumn, the bad weather this winter or simply selfish people? We don't like walking or driving around our parish and seeing lovely daffodils peeping out from under a disgarded crisp packet, can or bottle. Do you?
The more volunteers we have, the less time we all need to pick-up on every road, pavement and verge in our parish. This year we have a limited number of high-viz jackets and litter-picks available. We generally go in groups to chosen areas and our bags of rubbish are collected by car and put in the provided skip in the Village Hall car park. Usually takes about 2 hours or so. Additionally many locals clean up around their own road and gateways on this day too. It would be really good this year if we could also tackle Hetchell Woods and Pompecali. Is this too big a challenge for us ?? Remember, Saturday 10th April, 10 am Village Hall car park.
